2003-07-05 01:45:40 -- Eugene Gorbunoff [eCo Software, software updates]

eCo Software is proud to announce the release of russian IBM OS/2 MCP2 (14.089_W4). MCP2/Rus is the core of eComStation/Rus 1.1 operating system.

  • 133 MHz Intel Pentium(R)-compatible CPU
  • 32MB RAM; 64MB recommended
  • 120MB for the base installation; 300MB minimum for the base installation plus default installed components; 500MB recommended

The product is available to owners of eComStation/Rus 1.1 license only and it is delivered on separate CD.

2003-07-04 13:48:22 -- Eugene Gorbunoff [en.os2.org, Roderick Klein]

To keep people informed what is happening with eComStation 1.1, work on the German version of eComStation 1.1 has already been started. In eComStation 1.1 a lot of work has gone into making the proces easier for us to make other languages.

Also work has started on the French eComStation 1.1. Work on the italian version of eComStation 1.1 will start this week or next week. We except(!) to get the German version final in about a month. Other languages we can not make a forecast on.

Thank you for your patience.

Linux is not more threatening then OS/2 says Bill

2003-07-04 01:02:26 -- Eugene Gorbunoff [VOICENWS, Henk Pol]

Bill Gates still talking about OS/2: "Are you kidding? I mean, let's be serious. That was IBM, a company 15 times our size. Name a bank that didn't use OS/2. OS/2 was IBM's product, and the IBM army marched behind that product. People always think today's competition is somehow different and unique in some way."
